Night photography in Utrecht, the Netherlands

Gear used: Panasonic GH5 and Olympus 25mm F/1.2 PRO

Night photography is not something I usually do. After the sun sets it's basically a wrap for me. I guess it has to do with the “fear” that I have of getting noisy photos. I have a Canon EOS M50 and I rarely shoot above 1600 ISO.

However, when Budgetcam.nl contacted me and asked me if I wanted to test out the Olympus 25mm F/1.2 PRO I thought I'd give night photography a try. With a 1.2 aperture there's no better time, right? Since I only have Canon cameras, they also hooked me up with a Panasonic GH5 to test the lens out with.

It was good to step out of my comfort zone. The lens was nice to work with, but I didn’t enjoy shooting with the GH5. First of all, it didn't feel right in my hands. Second, most of the time it didn’t focus where I wanted it to (I used 1-point AF). Finally, it has a micro 4/3 sensor… APS-C is where I draw the line.
